Applying essential oils to the topically to the skin:
A popular way to enjoy your essential oils is to simply apply them to your skin or scalp for absorption – though never directly on the skin, but always mixed and diluted with a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil.
If you are using your essential oils to promote hair growth, we recommend that you use them topically.
Alternative ways of using essential oils.
Simply inhaling essential oils:Open the bottle of essential oils, hold it up against your nose or place a few drops on a tissue, breathe in deeply for a few seconds and the nausea will generally subside.
Steam inhalation of essential oils:
Boil 2-3 cups of water, pour it into a bowl and add 2-5 drops of oil to the water. Place your nose about 12” away from the bowl, cover your head and bowl with a towel, and slowly inhale the steam.
Try a diffuser bracelet:
For nausea relief on the go, add a few drops to one of our new nausea relief diffuser bracelets.
Using an essential oil diffuser:
Place a few drops of peppermint essential oil into a diffuser or oil burner. Alternatively you could use a room spray. In addition to relieving nausea, this will spread a pleasant fragrance throughout your home.
Using essential oils in a bath:
Adding essential oils to your bath can be a great aid to relaxation. Use simple Epsom salts as a base for your essential oils. If you just drop the oils into the water, they will not dissolve as nicely as they do if they are mixed into the salts.

Tisserand Ingredients:
Sourced from around the world, all Tisserand essential oils are 100% pure organic, wild crafted or ethically harvested and this is clearly stated on each of theiroils. But what’s the difference?
Organic – Tisserand only use the Soil Association Organic accreditation on products when the ingredients are 100% organic. This applies not only to their essential oils, but all their products. Tisserand never claim a product or ingredient as organic unless it is 100%.
Certified organic essential oils are derived from plants that have been grown without the use of man-made fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides. Instead, it uses ecosystem management methods to maintain the health of both plant and soil instead, guaranteeing there are no inputs such as genetic modification or irradiation. The benefits of organic agriculture include no pollution of the local air or groundwater and no synthetic chemicals in the plant or its essential oil, while maintaining the viability of the local environment. International standards are set by IFOAM (the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), which also accredits many certifying bodies, for example the Soil Association or French Ecocert.
Wild Crafted – Wild crafted essential oils are derived from plants that are not cultivated, but are gathered from their wild habitat. Although they are not organic, they are grown in their natural habitat, in conditions favourable to the health of the plant. Care is also taken to remain as sustainable as possible.
Ethically Harvested – An ethically harvested essential oil is derived from a herb, shrub or tree that is consciously cultivated in its natural environment to ensure the species grows in abundance and is not depleted. As far as aromatic plants are concerned, species depletion is only rarely a problem with herbs (which are mostly easy to grow in quantity) but tends to be more of an issue with slow-growing trees.
Rosemary essential oil stimulates circulation and reduces inflammation. As a result, it could prevent hair follicles from being starved of blood supply, dying off, and leading to hair loss.
Beyond stimulating hair growth, Rosemary essential oil may also help dry or itchy scalp.
There is lots of evidence to suggest that rosemary is an effective and natural mild pain reliever.
In a two-week study, stroke survivors with shoulder pain who received a rosemary oil blend with acupressure for 20 minutes twice daily experienced a 30% reduction in pain whilst those who received only acupressure had a 15% reduction in pain.
An animal study also showed that rosemary oil was slightly more effective for pain than acetaminophen, a common over-the-counter pain medication.
